The 2022 Hasene Qurban campaign carried out with the slogan “Open doors to friendship with Qurban” has been a success for our partner organisation, Hasene Australia.

The Qurban campaign was carried out under the supervision of 428 observers in 97 countries. Countries and regions where natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, victims of war, and intense hunger and poverty were prioritised.

During the Qurban campaign, 225,463 Qurban donations were collected and 227,145 Qurban were slaughtered and distributed to those in need. Hasene International has exceeded its target with the number of Qurban collections and has reached the highest number of Qurban collections to date.

Evaluating the campaign, Hasene International President Mesud Gülbahar said: “We set a different target every year in the campaign and strive to achieve those targets. We know that every effort means reaching more oppressed and victims, being hope for them, and sharing our prayers with them. We carry out our work with this motivation.”

With the community’s support, Hasene Australia has collected and distributed 5988 Qurban donations. Not only has Hasene Australia surpassed their target for the 2022 campaign, but they have also reached their highest number of Qurban donations for the region of Australia to date.

Fudul Australia Limited (Fudul) is a national community services organisation which supports individuals to live independently at home and actively participate in the community.

Fudul Australia Limited has been established with the purpose of providing social services to people in need around Australia. The word Fudul is derived from Hilf al-Fudul (Arabic: حلف الفضول‎) an alliance or confederacy created by the Meccans in the year 590 AD, to establish justice for all through collective action.

Because of Muhammad’s (PBUH) role in its formation, the alliance plays a significant role in Islamic ethics. Because fudul commonly means “virtuous” the alliance is often translated as League of the Virtuous.

Fudul Australia Limited is committed in providing benevolent relief to people in need in Australia by providing care, support and social services without discrimination or community segmentation in accordance with religious and family values and in a culturally inclusive manner.

Fudul is an organisation that specialises in providing a comprehensive range of services, programs and general support for our elderly members of the community, as well as individuals who have a permanent or significant disability based on specific needs. We value diversity and encourage individualism of people with disability, regardless of their age, type of disability or religious and cultural background. Fudul’s goal is to encourage people with disabilities to live the life they want to without any limitations.

After an eight-month renovation process with the leadership of project manager Yasar Can Cekic, the major upgrades have finally been unveiled to the community at ICMG Guildford Mosque. The upgrades include significant transformations to the mosque’s interior and exterior aesthetics and internal systems.

The facelift includes major improvements with their new top-of-the-line heating and cooling system, upgraded lighting system throughout the mosque, new vibrant carpets, new flooring and renewed exterior pavements. The renovations are sure to provide a whole new ambience to the congregation.

Renovations that began in August 2021, as acting ICMG Guildford president Mustafa Turkmen highlights that “The renovations have only been possible through the community’s active and generous support even through the challenging pandemic period”. ICMG Guildford Mosque board members, volunteers and supporting locals have been working tirelessly to complete the renovations whilst keeping the mosque operating for regular worshippers.

ICMG Youth Guildford president Mehmet Sula sees great hope in attracting new and local youth to the mosque with the recent upgrades. “The new atmosphere will certainly be more inviting and appealing to the youth and the Guildford community”, he says.

Craigieburn Project

The “Craigieburn Mosque Project / Complex” will be constructed in the north of Melbourne with an area of 20000 m2 and a closed area of 5450 m2. The mosque is the centre alongside 12 classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, youth centre, women’s centre, sports halls, pre-school education centre, cafe/restaurant, a large library, socialising areas, a guesthouse, children’s amusement facilities, funeral services centre, imams’ house, and administrative offices.
